It's reported that an Imam was arrested for calling Yoruba people to rise to Kwara State politics. The statement, no argument, is tribal.
Many people from different tribes discussed the matter on www.nairaland.com from different subjective angles.
From observation, many or all Yoruba Muslims showed that they prefer the Religion first and as a result will choose the Hausa tribe if there's need to choose a side. One categorically declared that he has nothing to do with the Yoruba tribe except it's for the propagation of Islam and does not care whether the Fulanis rule or enslave the country.
Reactions from others who aren't Muslims tagged Yoruba Muslims as "MUMUSLEMS" and that caused me to question myself.
"If your choice will save either a Hausa-Fulani Christian or Yoruba Muslim, who will you choose to save?"
I decided to ask some Christians. And they were sincere:
"I will save my Christian brother!"
"I chose the one you have in mind"
"Do good to all men especially those in the household of faith..."
"Christianity first niooo before ethnicity"
It's really critical.
This are my submissions:
Chonua Achebe was right when ge said the white man put a knife on the cord thant binds us together ... Things Fall" indeed, "Apart.
The Yoruba tribe are peaceful and thoughtful.
The Yoruba tribe is divided by religion and cannot be whole again.
The Yoruba tribe cannot have one voice or to a greater extent unite for cause.
The Oduduwa Republic is a great or tall dream
The tribe so distorted by conquest and religion in Nigeria is the Yoruba iibe.
The Yoruba are tolerant, anyway.
Preservation of religion s first, to almost all religious people
Tribe is second and only if religion is satisfied.
The best thing for the Yoruba is TOLERANCE which they seem to have.
Such is the case every where religions co-exist.
