Chapter 1

To the glory of God we are chosen by God to be His special people “For many are called, but few are chosen (Matthew 22:14).” When some people among the nation of God rose against Moses, we are read what Moses told them: And he spake unto Korah and unto all his company, saying, Even tomorrow the LORD will shew who are his, and who is holy; and will cause him to come near unto him: even him whom he hath chosen will he cause to come near unto him (Number 16:5).
Those who opposed Moses did so in the name of God and as a demonstration of their zeal for God’s people. They made it seem that Moses had become a megalomaniac ruler or a proud dictator. Korah, Dathan, Abiram and their supporters rebelled against God’s messenger to prove that they are also God’s people. The Bible later makes it clear that it is not mouth or aggressive claims of being a child of God that makes someone truly so. Man can lie or say that he or she belongs to God when actually that is not true. “Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let everyone that nameth the name of Christ depart
from iniquity (11 Timothy 2:19).” God knows those who are really His! The good news, however, is
that we also can know if we really are God’s children. If God knows me as His child I would know because the Spirit of God must have been in me. First, “The Spirit itself beareth witness with our
spirit, that we are the children of God (Romans 8:16).” So, I will surely know if I belong to God.
Second, “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God (Romans 8:14).” So,
do I have the confidence, that is, the conviction that I am a child of God? Do I believe I am God’s child simply because someone, maybe my father, mother, brother, teacher or Pastor tells me that I am? Am I really sure of that fact myself? If I am sure of it, am I certain that I am being led by the Holy Spirit of God? If the Spirit of God is not leading me, how can I be a child of God? Do I even know how the Holy Spirit leads a child of God? Does the Holy Ghost speak to me at all? If yes, then how? Do I always obey His instructions?
These questions will later be addressed. Jesus said to His disciples, “I speak not of you all:
I know whom I have chosen: but that the scripture may be fulfilled, He that eateth bread with me hath
lifted up his heel against me (John 13:18).” So, it’s possible to be close to God and dine with Him
and still betray Him. That is why you must “Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates (11 Corinthians 13:5)?” There are those who use force to make people follow a particular religion but Yahweh as well as Jesus does not want a ‘by force’ service but a heartily one. Many people started as Christians at home but when they leave the domain of their parents they leave the deed and creed of Christianity.

Definitely, such people only served God for their parents’ sake- as being forced by their parents.
Am I too young to know God personally? Those who know their God shall do exploit- resist the
Devil (Daniel 11:32). I want to know more of Him and the power of His ressurection. Lord, help me
to know you! Help me to listen to the Holy Ghost and read the word of faith that will help me grow.
Many people really loved God but when a time comes that they are persecuted, ridiculed or belittled because they are seen as ‘superstitious’ or ‘illiterate’ they simply deny Jesus. But we can
learn from Paul. He said, “For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not
ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I
have committed unto him against that day (11Timothy 1:12).” In decades to come I must be in Christ but some may leave. We may think that anyone really saved cannot leave Jesus but Demas and two others forsook Paul. “For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia,
Titus unto Dalmatia (11 Timothy 4:10).” In Philemon 1:24, Paul referred to Demas as a fellowlabourer but Demas later loved the world more than the gospel. We read in the Bible that “it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame (Hebrew 4-6).” That simply means that someone may 'really' repent,
get enlightened, commune with Heaven, have Holy Ghost and power and know the word and still FALL AWAY. In Jesus name I will not fall away. That I may not fall away I must know that He is able to keep me from falling (Jude 1:24). We should not think that anyone who backslides was never a believer in the real experience. The point is that we must watch and pray. And most importantly, we must rule our heart. “He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and
without walls( Proverbs 25:28).” We can do that if we constantly build ourselves up and never let a
time come when we feel we have attained the best or become irreplaceable permanent secretaries of Faith. “But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on
your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost (Jude 1:20).”
I know Whom I believed. Who is He? Who is He to me? There must never be a time of doubt of Who
God really is to me. Rather, there must be a continuous ‘knowing Him more’. We shall address
'Whom I Believed' in parts, in progress as the Holy Ghost will help us. The next Chapter deals with 'A Clarification of Religions: Knowing The Way for certain'. Before the next chapter let us ponder on ‘Who really is the One I Believed (to me)? Let us examine why we served Him. Have we as
individuals had personal encounter with the Lord Jesus? Also, before the next chapter, let us ponder on ‘whether and how the Holy ghost speaks with/to us. In Jesus name, we receive grace upon grace to journey unto perfection in The Way, The Truth and The Life. To the glory of God we are chosen.
