OLATOYE KUYE, SONNET 3

OLATOYE KUYE

SONNET 3
OLATOYE KUYE
SONNET 3
You look like something very beautiful
That can make death nice to the powerful
The strands on your head are sure gifts to lust
By force the aged ignore that they’re rust
Your innocent eyes are begging for trust
For the winds of lust in liars must gust
Let gods shut their eyes then I’ll be gleeful
For your unguarded smiles make me fearful

If the farmers’ sons plant you ten grapefruits
I’ll go to ten farmers for strawberries
If they bring you millions of cranberries
I’ll meet million farmers for blue berries
Just for you to give me your passion fruit
Then you’ll take from me my precious star fruit
